What’s a domain name?

A domain name is basically your web address or the bit of your email that comes after the @ symbol.

Choose your domain name

We will build you a blank WordPress website set up on your domain (that’s your website address/url). If you don’t already own your domain name then we can sort out the domain management and email setup for you with our bolt-ons.

A WordPress based website includes a built in content management system to add and edit web pages. You can build menus and site structures, add media (images and video) as well as add blog posts to provide updates or press releases. WordPress can even be used to build an online shop.

You can customise your site appearance using free themes (or use paid themes for a more bespoke look) and you can add functionality and features using plugins (with most available for free).

The dashboard for adding and editing content is intuitive to use and comes with a lot of built in help and advice to get your site looking professional quickly and easily without requiring any knowledge of code or html.

If your site includes an online shop or collects personal details from visitors we would suggest a SSL Certificate

If your on the WordPress package, we can help you sort your eMail, at DBA so we can keep the costs low we try not to hold your email. The prefered method is to accept the email and the forward it to your prefered online mailbox eg google/hotmail and then delete it from our servers

All DBA accounts are enabled with SpamAssasin, SPF and DKIM for your security

Sender Policy Framework (SPF) Definition:

SPF is a form of email authentication that defines a process to validate an email message that has been sent from an authorized mail server in order to detect forgery and to prevent spam. The owner of a domain can identify exactly which mail servers they are able to send from with SPF protocols.

DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) Definition:

DKIM is a form of email authentication that allows an organization to claim responsibility for a message in a way that can be validated by the recipient. DKIM uses “public key cryptography” to verify that an email message was sent from an authorized mail server, in order to detect forgery and to prevent delivery of harmful email like spam.
